Congregants,
As the Zion School Board and Zion Church Council have diligently worked to develop plans to manage through any impacts of COVID-19, we were recently alerted to the sobering news that one of our preschool students had tested positive for the virus during the week of November 9th.  I am happy to report to you that our controls, communication and compliance as a church family have resulted in a seemingly contained event.  Thankfully, the affected student’s parents noticed signs of a virus, more in line with a common cold, but kept the student home from school and coordinated testing.  With a positive result, the school was able to notify all students in the class and the teacher that they would need to quarantine for 14 days;  all have been compliant.  Classrooms on the school floor are deep cleaned daily and this practice remains in place to help clear surfaces of viral matter.

Finally, in an abundance of caution, students have not been allowed above the first floor since the pandemic started, but we continue to deep clean surfaces in preparation of the sanctuary for Sunday services. While we must remain vigilant of potential spread in the school and the church, it is our belief that our practices are solid and able to withhold from further cases.  We hope this letter finds you and your family well and safe, and further pray for a conclusion to this pandemic.

Thank you and yours in Christ.
